FA Cup draw: A match Fulham can win??!

28 November 2010

With the way Fulham's playing, a post-match Posh celebration isn't out of the question.

The third-round draw for the FA Cup was announced today and Fulham gets a nice break, landing a home match with mid-table League 1 club Peterborough, who were relegated from the Championship last season. The matches will be the weekend of Jan. 8-9, which is why that week’s Premiership schedule comes the following Wednesday.

Of interest to Jake, Manchester City will travel to Leicester with a fresh opportunity to foolishly dump an early-round cup tie. [EDIT: Jake correctly points out that City will face former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson in this cup tie, making it the second City-Fired Manager derby of the season.]

Of interest to those in London and Tokyo, Manchester United will host Liverpool in the marquee matchup of this early round.

You didn’t mention the crazy storyline of City’s FA Cup tie: facing Sven-Göran Eriksson.
